Resilient Flora in Fragments (From the ocean to the desert, from volcanic topography to the forest floor)
2019
Oil, graphite and collage on layered paper
45 x 61 cm each

Resilient Flora in Fragments represents traces of the California flora, where I live, as an embodied and sensory experience combining inner and outer surroundings. The wind, the drought, the vastness and the clarity of the landscape, the ocean and the warm Pacific sun come together in fragments (or snapshots) on two layers of paper that are juxtaposed, forming an ecosystem of related parts.
